Marlborough Man Threatens To Murder, Attacks Man With Knives

MARLBOROUGH- Neighbors say a man brandishing two knives and screaming profanities was the reason for an urgent call to police on Sunday afternoon. At approximately 1:43PM, police responded to 76 Rice Street to find Irbis A. Monrroy, 30 attacking a man and continuing to make death threats.The altercation was said to have begun in the victim's bedroom, where Monrroy allegedly threatened to kill the victim if he did not give him $500 he claimed he was owed. Police were able to secure the weapons quickly, and say alcohol may have been a factor. In 2012, Monrroy was arrested on similar charges when he attacked another man with a baseball bat. For a local brewery out of Worcester, the opportunity to capitalize on a turn-key taproom just 25 minutes away in Marlborough has been, well, a dream come true. Hank's Heart Foundation Helps Local Residents Fight Against Cancer

MARLBOROUGH- Over 175,000 men are expected to be diagnosed with some form of male cancer this year. Here in Marlborough, one mother daughter duo has teamed up to help men across America fight back by speaking up. Hank's Heart was co-founded by Lee Riani and her daughter Maggie in memory of a loving father and husband who passed away following his battle with a rare form of male cancer. The Riani women described Hank as an "anchor": the "strong, silent type" that held together their family. Marlborough Man Arrested For Theft

A local Marlborough man was arrested on Sunday after breaking into several cars. Two victims contacted police after being notified by their bank that a purchase had been made with one of their cards at a nearby gas station. The pair then went to the gas station to observe video footage of Adriel "AJ" Serrano, 23, using one of the cards to purchase several sandwiches. The attendant confirmed to police that Serrano then walked across the street to an apartment complex, where he was found with several of the stolen items in plain sight on a table. Police were able to obtain camera footage of the robbery taking place, and observed that Serrano had also broken into a second car. They were able to

Apex Center Hosts Ceremonial Ribbon Cutting

The Marlborough Police Department adopted the SafeCam program to help reduce crime in the city. MPD asks anyone with a surveillance camera to register to the SafeCam program to help create a safer city for everyone.

With Election Day quickly approaching, the City of Marlborough has released a list of upcoming dates you'll want to mark on your calendar. Decided this year you'd like to change parties, or might this be your very first year eligible to become a registered voter? Make sure you stop by the clerk's office before 8pm on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 17TH to ensure you're good to go on the big day. If you're someone who likes to get ahead of the crowd and cast your vote early, keep your ears open starting on MONDAY, OCTOBER 22ND.
