MARLBOROUGH- A grandfather and his grandson made a startling discovery on Sunday while fishing at the Marlborough Fish & Game Association when they came across a lifeless body in the water.
Shortly before 11am on Sunday, Marlborough Police received the disturbing call of a body found in one of the Association's ponds. Without releasing any names pending notification of the victim's family, police did say it was a 51-year-old man. While the Medical Examiner's office is still working with State Police to determine the exact cause of the man's death, it is not being treated as suspicious.
On Monday afternoon, you could still see caution tape throughout the area, and the Association's Facebook page announced they would be closed for the day.
Marlborough Police have confirmed that the remains found did not belong to a member of the Association, and the investigation is still ongoing.
