Two Dogs Dead, Woman Injured After Struck By Car

MARLBOROUGH- Last night, an accident left a woman seriously injured and two dogs dead after they were hit by a car. It happened on the corner of West Main and Winthrop Street around 8:30 pm. A woman walking two dogs was struck by a car while crossing the street, using the crosswalk. The two dogs died from their injuries. Paramedics treated the victim on scene, who was then transported to a nearby hospital. Officers found a vehicle with severe damage to the windshield and front bumper at the scene. Police say the driver remained on scene after the incident and as of now, has not been charged.

As of this morning, the victim remains in the hospital with serious injuries. Marlborough Police and CEMLEC accident reconstruction continue to investigate the incident. Police have not released the identity of the victim or driver.
