MARLBOROUGH- 75 years after he was killed in action, Army Air Force Technical Sergeant, Alfred Sandini was laid to rest in Marlborough beside his family.
Sandini died during World War II in French Indochina on February 15,1944. He was aboard a B-25C Mitchell bomber when enemy fire caused his plane to crash. His remains were found in 1947, but they were only recently identified.
The city of Marlborough stepped up to the plate to welcome Sandini home. A funeral was held at Immaculate Conception Church followed by a burial with full military honors at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
