St. Mary's Credit Union Debit Card Compromise

MARLBOROUGH- On October 31, hundreds of members at St. Mary’s Credit Union received an alert notifying them of suspicious activity on their debit cards. Following the alert, St. Mary’s posted on their Facebook page explaining that their Member Solutions Center was experiencing a high call volume causing wait times to be longer than normal. Due to an increase in customer concern, St. Mary’s and its nearby branches operated on extended hours.

On November 2, St. Mary’s posted an update to their Facebook page explaining that after investigating, they are confident no personal or financial information was compromised. As a precautionary measure, those who received the alert will be issued new debit cards. For members who did not receive the alert, no new card is necessary. This breach did not impact every St. Mary’s member, only those who received the alert. St. Mary’s assured members that account security and privacy is the bank’s top priority.
