Local Cafe Deals with On-Site Consumption Ban

MARLBOROUGH- On Sunday, Gov. Charlie Baker announced new plans to combat the spread of COVID-19. Heavily impacting local restaurants like Main Street Cafe, Gov. Baker banned on-site consumption at any restaurant, bar or establishment. Starting March 17, all food and drink must be taken-out or delivered.

Main Street Cafe owner, Randy Scott, hung a sign on his door, warning his customers of this temporary change. In addition to take-out orders, Main Street Cafe will offer delivery for the first time, using services like GrubHub and DoorDash. With only a two day notice, the ban forced Scott to lay off all his help. For the next three weeks, Scott and his wife will fulfill the to-go and delivery orders.

The ban ends April 7.
