Marlborough Teachers Push for Remote Learning

DOWNTOWN MARLBOROUGH- Dressed in red, teachers in Marlborough lined Main Street pushing for a remote start to the school year.

Like several other districts in the state, Marlborough school officials voted on using a hybrid learning model. Students will rotate between a week of in-person and remote learning. However, some teachers feel it is still too soon and unsafe to return to the classroom.

Teachers want rapid testing and upgraded ventilation systems before they return to teach students in person. While school officials were determining the best return plan for the fall, one teacher explains teachers in the district were only given a survey to voice their concerns.

Superintendent Michael Bergeron told WMCT that he and the school sub committee are currently negotiating with the Marlborough Educators Association.
