Mayor J. Christian Dumais, City Engineer Tom DiPersio, local officials, and community members gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Marlborough’s newest recreational field on Hudson Street, transforming a former landfill site into a vibrant new public space for the community. The project marks the culmination of a decade-long environmental and engineering effort to safely redevelop the site into a beautiful recreational destination featuring open green space, walking paths, and scenic views of Fort Meadow Lake. During the ceremony, Mayor Dumais highlighted the importance of environmental renewal and community investment, while Tom DiPersio shared the extensive work that went into bringing the former landfill into full compliance for safe recreational use. Special thanks were recognized for state funding support, environmental partners, consultants, contractors, and the many city staff members who helped make this project possible. Be sure to visit the new park and enjoy everything this incredible new community space has to offer.
