In Marlborough, longtime letter carrier Chad Wigan has been honored with the prestigious Postmaster General’s Hero Award after his quick actions helped save an elderly neighbor in need. While delivering mail on his route, Chad found a resident who had fallen on his walkway. Instead of passing by, Chad acted with compassion bringing pillows and blankets to comfort him and calling for emergency help. At a special ceremony, Postmaster Nicholas Tselikis, city officials, and representatives from the National Association of Letter Carriers praised Chad’s dedication, noting his story will now be displayed on the USPS Heroes wall in Washington, D.C. Chad humbly described his response as “just part of the job,” reflecting the care and community spirit that makes him not only a trusted carrier, but also a true hero.
