The Power of Collaboration: Planning Community Events as a Team to bring Service projects to life
Kathleen Goneau leads a discussion with Elizabeth Young, Denise Ryan, and Alison Conlin, members of the Marlborough Junior Women's Club, about how the club organizes community service projects.
They talk about how project ideas come from club members, community needs, and adapting successful projects from other organizations. Committees allow members to contribute their skills and interests to projects big and small. Virtual meetings have helped members collaborate during the pandemic.
The club has partnered with local schools, seniors, veterans and more over its long history. Some past projects include school sensory paths, senior center art classes, princess boutique dress drive, Christmas tree pickup and more.
Upcoming events mentioned include the Princess Boutique clothing giveaway on March 16 and a trivia night fundraiser on April 5. The club is also planning an anxiety panel for schools and Family Fun Festival with local nonprofits. The women encourage community members to get involved with the club and its community service initiatives by attending a meeting or reaching out on social media.
