Marlborough kicked off the holiday season in festive style yesterday at the annual Holiday Stroll and Tree Lighting, hosted by the Marlborough Downtown Village Association and the City of Marlborough. Families filled Main Street enjoying Candy Cane Express train rides, a cozy s’mores station, the crowd-favorite chowder and chili contest, a bustling holiday market, arts and crafts, carolers, and even a surprise visit from the Grinch. The celebration continued as the community gathered at Union Common for the city’s official tree lighting with Santa and Mayor Christian Dumais. Visitors warmed up with hot chocolate and popcorn, took photos with Santa, visited the petting zoo, and enjoyed beautiful performances from the Marlborough High School Choir as well as the MHS String and Jazz ensembles inside First Church.
