In 1925, Greek immigrants working in Marlborough's shoe factories stopped on their way home from work to build a church with their own hands. A hundred years later, Sts. Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church still stands on the hill above Main Street, its golden dome one of the city's most recognizable landmarks. This WMCT-TV documentary follows the parish from its first attempt at a community in 1912, through the Christmas Day 1925 opening, the 1980 start of the Greek Festival, the devastating fire of February 2001, and the rebuilding that followed. It also looks ahead to the church's second century. Produced by WMCT-TV, Marlborough's community television station. #Marlborough #GreekOrthodox #StsAnargyroi #MarlboroughMA #LocalHistory #WMCTTV #MetroWest #Centennial
