Sunovion Partners With AMSA

Marlborough- Sunvovion Pharmaceuticals and The Advanced Math and Science Academy Charter school (AMSA) formed a partnership to help students to better understand neuroscience and a life science career path. Five students participated in the program; 4 seniors and 1 junior. Mark Vital, AMSA's community outreach manager was in charge of the process of picking the students. It was posted as through it was a real job and students that applied the students had to write a cover letter and resume.

The AMSA students and Sunvovion came together and developed a lesson plan and laboratory exercises about the peripheral, central and nervous systems to enhance their existing biology class curriculum. The students then took what they learned and taught it to a seventh grade biology class at AMSA.

The four seniors received scholarships for the program since it was apart of their capstone. One junior was chosen to be the person to help other students next year as the program will be continuing.
