Marlborough High School EMT Program

MARLBOROUGH- Marlborough High School partnered with Patriot Ambulance to offer an EMT training course to seniors. MHS is one of the only public schools in Massachusetts to offer a program like this. Over the course of the school year, students learn dispatching skills and emergency medical dispatching, including a full program on EMT training. Once students complete training and pass the NREMT Exam, they will be EMT certified and job ready. Programs like these helps solve the national shortage of EMTs and paramedics.

In its first year, five students are currently enrolled in the program. These students train five days a week for school credit, completing more than 250 hours. In addition to the classroom, students rotate through internships at the police and fire departments, as well as Patriot Ambulance. Marlborough High School's Principal, Dan Riley, hopes to double enrollment for next year's program.
