Nipmuc Badge Dedication @ Wayland Police Department

As part of Native American Heritage Month, Wayland Police Department recently unveiled its new badge, which honors Wayland and local Nipmuc Nation Native Americans, and was designed with the organization to encapsulate important parts of Wayland’s history and values. On November 16th, 2022, members of the Wayland Police Department and Town officials welcomed citizens of Nipmuc Nation. Acting Chief Ed Burman spoke at the ceremony, along with Officer Lynnet Sloan, and Love Richardson, a citizen of the Hassanamisco Band of Nipmucs and a tribal council member.
