Summer is here, and so is the June 2026 edition of the Marlborough Mirror. Issue #11 is one of our biggest yet, with community news, local history, a full June events calendar, sports, and more.
The front page story covers Celebrate 250 — the free, family-friendly event on Friday, June 27th honoring America's 250th birthday with a parade down Main Street, fife and drum corps, a live Revolutionary War skirmish, food trucks, live music, and a cannon salute finale at Ward Park. If you're in Marlborough this summer, this is the event to mark on your calendar.
Inside, Assistant Executive Director Mike Lawton takes readers back to 1660 with a look at how Marlborough was founded — more than a century before the Declaration of Independence. It's a great read as the nation marks this milestone year.
Youth Coordinator Zach Benton and the Junior Reporters share their studio visit with Alyssa Giaquinto of the Giaquinto Wildlife Center and her barn owl Bella. (Did you know barn owls can hear a mouse's heartbeat under six inches of snow?) Sports Director Matthew Besachio covers the AMSA Charter Softball team's perfect 18-0 regular season. And the June City Events page has everything you need to plan your summer — from the splash pads opening June 2nd to World Cup fan zones at Kelleher Field.
