Welcome to this exciting October edition of Super Saturday with Interim Superintendent Dr. Jason DeFalco! In our first segment, Principal Angela House takes us inside Whitcomb Middle School to showcase their transformation around four core values of Respect, Opportunity, Academics, and Responsibility, featuring small class sizes, state-of-the-art engineering labs with 3D printers and laser cutters, robust elective programs in art, music, and digital media, an advisory program with just 8-10 students per group, NWEA progress monitoring to ensure every student succeeds, diverse after-school activities from chess club to salsa dancing, and even international experiences including a current student trip to Japan. In our second segment, get an exclusive update on the new Richer Elementary School building project from Principal Lisa Richards along with Chris Eberly from Vertex Companies, Christopher Lee and Christina Bazelmans from Lamoureux Pagano Associates Architects, as they discuss the vision for a new 950-student building with three-story layout, 21st century learning spaces with cutting-edge technology, how this project will improve all Marlborough elementary schools by freeing up space in existing buildings, community and student voice in the design process, and the partnership with Mass School Building Authority.
